Although the king acts as the head of a nation’s forces, each force has its own commanding officers. They are known as Senapati or Senapati. The leader of a regiment is known as the headman , Dandanayakam or Mahadandanayakam. Governments have maintained various types of armies such as infantry, elephants, cavalry, and naval forces. They have gone by sea and taken possession of the neighbor hoods. Not only the kings but also the trade groups maintained troops with archers to support the government and guard the trade.
